Davide Mineo (Palermo, 1992) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo obtaining an MA and a BA in Painting. Mineo works on an idea of painting in relation to space, which brings together different attitudes, from the concentration on chromatic relationships to the exploration of the tactile properties of materials, from the reflection on the symbolic value of the gesture that stitches, that assembles, in search of a three-dimensionality which is the physical occupation of space, the bodily translation of a thought.
In 2021, together with Gabriele Massaro and Enzo Calò, he founded La Siringe, an artist-run space in Palermo. In 2022, he was selected for the Panorama project, by the Quadriennale di Roma, with a studio visit by Daniela Bigi. He has exhibited in group and solo shows: Schema Plastico, curated by Alessia Coppolino, L’Ascensore, Palermo, 2021; Strutture di moti, curated by Osservatorio Arti visive (Toni Romanelli, Daniela Bigi, Gianna Di Piazza), Cappella dell’Incoronazione – RISO Museo d’Arte Contemporanea della Sicilia, Palermo, 2015; Progetto QANAT #2, Enzo Calò and Gabriele Massaro’s idea, Studio Mascal, Palermo, 2019; Attraverso i punti #2, curated by Osservatorio Arti visive (Toni Romanelli, Daniela Bigi, Gianna Di Piazza), Palazzo Ziino, Palermo, 2017; RILEVAMENTI #1, Bruno Corà’s idea in collaboration with Daniela Bigi, Tommaso Evangelista, Aldo Iori, Federico Sardella, Marco Tonelli, Camusac Museum, Cassino, 2016.
